Challenge

40% of the energy used in the United States is consumed by buildings and much of this energy is wasted. At the same time buildings often fail to meet occupant expectations for comfort, and indoor air quality. A lack of coordination between buildings and the grid results in renewable resources being wasted, potentially resulting in challenges for grid reliability.

MISSion

Building Intelligence Group improves building comfort and energy efficiency by helping design and implement advanced building systems with integrated controls. Better control systems and strategies are the key to achieving the following:

  • Improved occupant safety, comfort and productivity, while minimizing energy use

  • Reducing the effort and cost to maintain building performance and reliability through data driven maintenance and operations

  • Improving renewable energy resource utilization and reliability by real-time coordination of building systems and the electrical grid.
